The early years of a child’s life are the most important. Our Foundational Stage is designed to create a joyful, safe, and stimulating environment where children begin their learning journey with curiosity and confidence.
We focus on nurturing happy learners who feel secure, valued, and excited to explore the world around them.

The Foundational Stage, as defined by NEP 2020, covers children between the ages of 3 to 8 years, including pre-school and early primary years. This stage forms the base of a child’s overall development, where learning is built through play, exploration and meaningful experiences rather than formal instruction.
Our vibrant, interactive spaces invite little learners into a world full of questions, wonder and joy.
Guided outdoor and indoor discoveries where children observe, investigate and make sense of the world.
Puzzles, sorting, and logical games that build early reasoning, problem-solving and fine motor skills.
Rhythm, dance and art sessions that help children express emotions and develop body awareness.
Rich language experiences that grow vocabulary, imagination and listening skills through shared stories.
Structured and free play sessions — the primary medium through which young children make meaning.
Safe spaces to share, take turns, build friendships and understand feelings with patience and care.
Each stage is carefully designed to match a child’s developmental pace, curiosity and confidence.
First steps — sensory play, routines, songs and social bonding.
Letters, numbers and imagination through stories and themed play.
Early reading, writing and number sense through hands-on experiences.
Structured learning with activity-based lessons and collaborative tasks.
Confidence-building in literacy, numeracy and expressive communication.
These early years are crucial — a significant portion of brain development happens now, making it essential to provide the right environment and guidance.
Reasoning, memory, observation and early problem-solving through play-based inquiry.
Recognising, naming and regulating feelings in a warm, trusting environment.
Sharing, listening, collaborating and building friendships that last well beyond the classroom.
Gross and fine motor growth through games, movement and creative activities.
We lay strong foundations in language and numeracy through engaging, meaningful activities — never rushed, always responsive to the child.
Through conversation, songs and show-and-tell.
With phonics, stories and mark-making activities.
Counting, sorting and measuring with everyday objects.
Circle time, peer discussions and guided questions.
Learning extends beyond the classroom to help children connect what they learn with the real world.
Walks, garden projects and visits that awaken curiosity about the living world.
Collaborative projects where children learn to share, listen and build together.
Festivals, traditions and performances that root children in our rich heritage.
Our Foundational Stage wing is thoughtfully built for safety, sensory richness and joyful exploration.
Child-sized furniture, reading corners and activity zones that welcome exploration.
Safe play equipment and open spaces for gross-motor development and imaginative games.
A cosy corner for read-alouds, rhythm circles and creative expression.
Messy, magical spaces where little hands paint, paste and create freely.
Glimpses of curiosity, laughter and little milestones from our classrooms.
Learning extends beyond the classroom to help children connect what they learn with the real world.

Choosing The Kanjirappally Heritage School for our child was one of the best decisions we made. The teachers are compassionate and attentive, and we truly feel that our child is seen and supported. The balance of values and modern education gives us great confidence about the future.
As defined by NEP 2020, the Foundational Stage covers children between the ages of 3 to 8 years — including Pre-KG, LKG, UKG, Class I and Class II.
A balanced day of circle time, play-based learning, storytelling, music, outdoor exploration, snack & rest, creative activities and reflection — always at a child-friendly pace.
We follow a gentle settling-in process with parents involved in the first days, warm routines and patient, trained educators who help each child feel safe, valued and at home.
Not in the traditional sense. We use continuous observation-based assessments. Learning stays joyful — never rushed — and we share regular progress updates with parents.
We maintain a low ratio — approximately 1 teacher and an assistant for every 15–20 children — ensuring every child gets personal attention, care and guidance.
